MATADOR. Sask. tCPI-There is a neat crescent of 17 modern houses and a few nondesc lyt buildings at Matador. Excet for bald prairie clear to the horizon. there isn't much else.

The bungalows were built on this linely site 10 years ago for an average 39.000 each. Now they are rented for about 815 I month by farmers who earn 81,110 a year in wages and live in city-like comforts envied by most of their isolated country neighbors.

As a group. the 11 farmers here have .close to 3300.000 in assets. Besides buildings and ” ry. they have' their livestock and thousands of bushels of unsold grain. most of it piled uncovered

But individually they have vir- tually nothing except furniture and perhaps a car. They don't own land or a house or even a! chicken.
