The L, i, had om boardsome logsof mahogany, which it was believed had been taken from the shore. The captured vessel was owned by Messrs. Roberts and Saunders, of Abaco.

The Schooner Galvanic was chased by a war steamer on the same coast, bat managed toescape fromher. Weare told that the Gi.’s mast is sprung in two places, occasioned by a press of sail in running from the steamer.—Bahama Herald, Sept. 19.

MARRIAGE OF MISS BANNERMAN. (From the Nassau Guardian, August 22.

The marriage of Captain Synge, Royal Engiaeers, F.R.G.S., to Miss Bannerman, the amiable and accomplished niece of our highly-esteemed Governor, was celebrated this morning in | Christ Church, the Venerable Archdeacon Trew performing the ceremony. The bride was elegantly attired, and looked particularly interesting. On arriving at the Church, flowers were strewn over the aisle, ax she advanced to the altar by the girls of the class tanght by her in the Saint Agnes’ Sunday School, and a imerry peal of bells—temporarily placed in the bellfry—was rung. On leaving the Church the same joyous | sound aceoiapanied the happy pair until they reached Govern- ment House, where His Excellency Sir Alexander and Lady Bannerman had invited a select number of friends to a very recherche entertainment.

The steeple of Christ Church was decorated with flags, and the bells within, before alluded to, rang werrily every hour from 6 o’eloek, a. m., till the ceremony Was over.
