I just finished reading the Oct. 20 editorial by C arolyn | tie, and I feel compelled to respond. | am an Islander tried | true, and I beicive that Ms. Hortie illustrated quite well why | me may regard newcomers to our little peice of the world th a little suscpicion. You do not understand what it is like | ing on PEI. Our province has an atomnosphere and attitude | ut it that I don’t think you can find anywhere else in North | nerica. It will just take some time but I’m sure you willcome | see the charm and appeal of living here.

As for the imperssion that graduates all have to head off | the big city, I feel you are a little off base with that notion. | Ithough many do leave, based on my experience I don’t think | at too many want to go for good. it is just part of life. One | ould explore news things and live a differnt lifestyle; how | se will they come to realize that PEI is one of the best places | the world to live? .

PEI must always maintain the all-city image it has. come back with expeirince and abilities so that we will ever grow stagnant, and never turn into something that we do ot wantto be. It seems pretty simple to me, but then again that st may be one of my “back-country ways”

Postering on campus. Lately, it seems that some are taking more “liberal” artistic licenses, and this has many students offended. The line between good taste and offensive propaganda appears to be blurred in public. The Student Union noticeboard and numerous postering targets are victims of siurs and what must be intended as “sarcastic” social commentaries.
