(I. N. R. Emloyee Receives Injury

-30. J. Allison MacGregor, employed with the C.N.R.. sus- tained injury to one oi his test and was taken to the Prime County Hospital following an ac- cident while at work on Tuesday. The accident occurred aiter Mr. Macoregcr had operated a rail- way switch on the branch line leading to the R.C.A.F. station at Sununerside.

While standing on the first step of one of the cars or the mov- lng trelght train, his foot came in contact with an iron bar that had been carelessly left sticking in the snow near the track at some previous time. The bar was so sec- ure and unyielding that it broke a bone in Mr. MacGregor's foot, causing him to jump or fall irorn the train. Crew members observed he had been injured. stopped the train, and rushed him back to summerside where he was taken to hospital. --I.

Father And Son Banquet Held Al Summgside

-The annual father and son banquet of St. Mary's and St. John's Anglican consresntions was held on Tuesday evening in St. Maryls Hall under the sponsorship of the Lay'men's Association and was very largely attended. Ven Archdeacon G. R. Harrison, pas- tor. asked the blessing and Mr. Ron Macxemnic acted as master oi ceremonies. A delicious turkey supper was served by the Ladies Guild.

Following the meal, Mr. Mac- Kenzle thanked the committee who had organized the dinner and made it such a success. Mr. Ben Plllman. president of the La.ymen's Amoclation spoke on the aims and objects oi the association and in- vited all the men of the congrega- tion to become members. Archdeacon Harrison thanked those present for turning out in such large numbers on a stormy day and said that the Lay- men's Association had accomplish- ed much. both spiritually and tlruuiclally for the church and urged all men to become members. The meeting concluded with a line program of entertainment. Mwsrs. Roy Miwcaull and Leon- ard Perry gave several musical numbers and Mr. Ben Beck show- ed a number of films. It was an- nounced that Al Elder and Vic Ramsay would shortly be calling a meeting of the boys to get the winter and spring program under way. 6
