Dear Frienp,—It is with feelings of unalloyed pleasure that we meet this evea- ing to give you acordial welcowe home. When you partied with us to seek that knowledge and instruction your native | land did not afford, you departed laden with the good wishes and fond anticipa~ tions of your many friends. Endowed with talents of a rare order, you had taken care to add to these rich gifts the necessary complements of a dauutless energy aod an untiring perseverance. Thus fortified, we hoped—vea, we felt sure— your career as a student would be marked with brilliancy and success. It gives us, then, exceeding pleasure and satisfaction to learn that yout success iseven beyood our most ardent expectations. Within the walls of famous McGill, one of the foremost seata of learn - ing on the continent, you have coped suc- cessfully with the foremost genius and talent of this great Dominion.
