‘Annual Meeting 0t 0’Leary Scout Troop

-Th¢ annual meeting of the .O'Leury Troop of Boy Scouts and the Wolf Cub Pack was held in the 0'Leary Hall on Dec. 15th. The 'Scout Commissioner, Mr. Gordon 'Kerr of Aiberton was the i"!!! speaker. He showed two Scout films, one entitled “Men of To- morrow", showing the manifold activities of Boy Scouts in Great Britain in the Second World War, and the second picture was “Com- punions", showing the joys and pleasures of the Boy Scout train- ing in camp, on hikes, etc.

After the films, Mr. Kerr met the group committee. The chair- man, Mr. Peter Pete presided. The assistant Scoutmaster, D o u gla s Hardy, gave a splendid report of the Boy Scout Troop which has an enrollment of 21 Scouts. Re- ceipts amounted to $248.00 and ex- penditurcs to $231.00, The Apple Day receipts were splendid and $95.00 was realized.

Three 0'Leary Scouts attended the Jamboree in Ottawa, Peter Pate, Arthur Seaman and William Matheson. Mr. Douglas Hardy also attended as one of the Leaders of the P. E. I. contingent.

Mr. Emmerson Smallmun, Cub- tnastcr, also gave a finc- report, A hearty vote of appreciation for their fine services for Scouting was extended to Scoutmastcr John Matthews and assistant, Douglas Hardy. and to Cubmaster Emmer- son Smaliman and assistant W.

lMr. John Matthews, assistant. Mr. E. W, Turner will interview the O'Leary Legion to see if they will sponsor scouting in O'Lear_v. Then a new Scout Committee will be formed. A vote of thanks was ex- ltended Mr. Kerr for his presence land valuable advice at the meet- ‘ins. He announced there would ‘be a Jﬂmboree at Valley Forge. Penn., from June 30th to July 6 and the allocation from Canada is 1,000 Scouts including one patrol from P. E. I.—O.

Scott. There were ten members and six visitors present. Chief Ex- plorer Patsy Daley presided, and the meeting opened with the Elx- plorers Purpose and hymn “This is My Father's World." During the business session it was moved that $3 be contributed to the Church Building Fund. The Christmas worship was conducted hy Patsy Daley and Margaret Joan Car- ruthcrs. The story of the Wise Men from Matthews Gospel was rend in unison. Betty Coughlin. Dorothy and Arlene Monkley sang "We Three Kings of’ Orient Are". The meeting closed with a hymn and prayer.
