Three or four women got together and passed a resolution to the effect that if a railway company could not protect its passengers the legislature should be appealed to, but that couple had a death grip on each other and wouldn't let go.

The baggageman came in when sent for, but he said he was helpless. He knew just how we mast feel, but the road wasn’t to blame. The conductor came back to the car and asked us not to lay it up against him, He was a poor map, had been out of a job several months, and this was his first run.
