Ar Cornwatt.—The cheesemaker and bis aseistants at the Corowall cheese fac~ tory are being kept very busy at present, They are making daily about nineteen cheese, and thirtyon Mondays. Between twenty-two and twenty-three thousand pounds of milk are received on Mondays en about fourteen thousand on other

Runaway Accivext.—A farmer and his daugbter were driving into town this morning, by way of Brighton Road. When coming through the narrow opening at Black Sam’s Bridge, between the fence «round the sewerage trench and a telephone post, their buggy caught on one side. The horse jumped right out of the snafts and ran up the street a short distance, while the young lady was thrown out. She sus- tained @ nasty scratch over the ey2and a very bad scare.

Sports at Georcerown.—On Monday next, September 4th the annual athletic sports of the crews of theFishery Protection Fleet will take place on the Driving Park at Georgetown. On that day the ladies of the Presbyter.an Church will provide tea forthe public in the Drill Shed, and that evening an entertainment will be held in the Court House. The Montague band will furpieh enlivening music throughout the day. Such a combination of attractions ebould draw a large crowd to the Eastern capital.

Over tes Waanr.—Early this morning Masier Weston Peake, a Jad of twelve summere, while attempting to land from a wreck lying near Peakes No I wharf lost bis footing and was instantly precipitated into deep water, not far from the wharf. There being no one near at hand at the time to reader him assistance but his little sister it was fortunate the lad had learned to spim, and he heroically struck out for the shore, whic: he soon reached in safety, not much the worse for his involuntary
