Mr. Ritchie was appointed to Canada’s top judicial tribunal to fill a post—normally regarded as going to the Marititnes—vacated by the April resignation of Mr. Justice Ivan C. Rand, from Moncton, N.B.

He is the first vice-president of the Nova Scotia Bar Associa- tion and a member of the N.S council of the Canadian Bar As- sociation. - ma
