On Monday. Dec. 4th. 1950. the people of Bradiilbane and vicinity were saddened to learn of the sudden passing of Mrs. Robert T. Barlow in her 78th year.
Although she had been falling
Mrs. in health for years. site bore her
illness with Christian patience and fortitude. her life characteriz- ed by the motto:' "It's better to give than to receive."
.Mra. Barlow was the former Mary Elizabeth MacKenr.ie. daugh- ter of the late Murdock Mac- Kenzle and Mary MacLeod of I-lartsville. P.E.I.
On July 12. 1891 she was un- ltdd in marriage with Robert T. Barlow of Wellington where .they
resided for fifty years. iifter which they retired from farm life and took up lresiden in Bradalbane.
'Besides her aorrowing husband she leaves to mourn their loss two daughters (Mamie) Mrs. Nor- man Mntheson. Bradaibane; (Flora) Mrs. H. W. Clay. Char- lottetown. one IOli.. Ira in West-' wcod, Mass, and one foster son. Donnie at home. One son James and one daughter (Hannah) Mrs. N.,S. Schofield pro deceased her. She is' also survived by one sis- ter Effie, Vermont. U. S. A. an: three brothers. Alexander on Thomas in Leavenworth, Wash., and William in Warner, N. H.. also nine grandchildren and ab: great grandchildren.
The funeral service. which was largely attended. was held on Thursday. Dec. 7th. a short ser- vice at this house thence to Brad- albane United Church of which she was an active and faithful member. .
The service was conducted by Rev. L. M. Murray assisted by Rev. J. A. Maccowan. Rev. Mr. Murray spoke words of courage and comfort to the bereaved fam- ily. The hymns sung were The Lord's My Shenherd and Sale In The Arms of Jesus. also a duet. Nearer Still Nearer by Rev, L. M. Murray and Mr. Russel MacKsy of Kenslngton. .
The pallbearers were, Joseph Maiheson. Adam MacKenzle. Alex C. MacDonald. Alex J. MacDon- ald, L. S. Seaman Wlsmore. . .
Many floral tributes testified to the esteem in which the deceased was held. Interment was in Brad- nlbane Cemetery "there to await the resurrection morn. Goodness and mercy were her virtues all her life and now site dwells in the house of the Lord."
