Council Ofﬁce, 6th July, IS Excellency the Lieut. Governor, in Council, has been pleased to make the following appointments, viz :

Peter DesBrisay, Esq.,to be Postmaster General for this Island, in the place of Lemuel Cambridge Owen, Esq., who has resigned that Ofﬁce.

James Currie, Esquire,to be Assistant in the General Post Ofﬁce, in the place of Peter DesBrisay, Esquire.

Mr. Wallace McLeod, to be an additional Assistant in the Gene- ral Post Ofﬁce.

William Hayden, Esquire, of Morell, to be a Commissioner for the recovery of Small Debts for St. Peter’s, in the place of John Benjamin Cox, Esq., deceased.

John Dixon, Esquire, of'I‘ownship No. 42, to be a Commissioner for the recovery of Small Debts, for St. Peter’s Bay, in the place of Daniel IlIcPhee, Esq., resigned.

Mr. James McDonald, of GeOrgetown, to be Keeper of the Light- house at Panmure Island, in the place of Mr. John Duﬁ‘, resigned.

His Excellency, in Council, has been pleased to appoint Mr. John Sharpe, of Kensington, Township No. 19, a Justice of the Peace for Prince County.

TENDERS FOR A SAILING PACKET between GEORGETOWN AND PICTOU.

EALED TENDERS will be received at this ofﬁce until SATUR- DAY. the 2lst inst., at 12 o’clock, noon, from any person or persons being willing to furnish the Government with a fast-sail- ing. staunch, Substantial VESSEL, of not less than 50 tons burthen O. M., having good cabin accommodation for passengers, and to be suﬂiciently manned and fully and properly equipped and apparel- ed, and subject in all things to the approval of the Government. The said vessel to be required to run as a packet for the convey- ance of Her Majesty’s Nails. and for the accommodation of passen- gers, between the port of Georgetown in this Island, and the port of Pictou, in Nova Scotia, from the 23d inst., until the3lst day of December, in the present year, 1866. The said service required to be performed as follows, viz: The Packet shall leave Georgetown wharf for Pictou, and Pictou for Georgetown,upon such days dur- ing the above named period as shall be ﬁxed upon by the Gover- nment,and shall be subject to such alteration in the days ﬁxed for leaving Georgetown and Pictou as the Government shall at any time direct and require.

The Tender is required to name the age, tonnage, rig, and ac- commodation of the Vessel tendered. and also the sum which the Tenderer will engage to perform the whole term of service for, and furnish also the names of tWo persons of known responsibility,who . will become bound for the due performance of the Service. All , freight and passage money to be the property of the owner of the i

vessel. The Tender is required to express on its covor: “ Tenderl
