The special speaker for the evening was _Sergeant-Major Matt Hagan, RCMP, vice-presi- dent of the Queens County Home anid School. He outlined the pur- poses of Home and School ex- plaining that it was a coalition of parents and teachers for the benefit of the child. Home ‘and School 1s one of the best sources of adult education. “We must know what our children’s meedas are before we can at- tempt to remedy the situation,” he said in outlining the three major influences upon a child's life, namely — home, school, and community.

He posed the question, “Have we given enough consideration to the third influence, - munity?”

At the conclusion of Mr. Hagan's remarks he introduced John Martin, also a member of the executive of Home and School, 1 showed a film, entitled “The Test’, after which those present were divided into groups for a discussion period
