Ministerial Espionage. The true inwardness of the recent minis- terial crisis in Prussia, which has been re vealed since the death of the Emperor Frederick, sheds little credit on Prince Bismarck and his allies or tools, and dis closes, inthe most glaring manner, the martyrdom to which the invalid sov ereign was subjected. It appears that the real cause of his late Majesty’sobjection to Herr Putkamer was the despicable rele that he had consented to play in the intrigues of the palace. He was, by all accounts, noth- ing more than a spy on the Imperial family having held that post, under Prince Bismarck, for several years past. The ar- rangements for the carrying out of his detective system had been made so skilfully that the enemies of Frederick, both when Crown Prince and Sovereign, had access to his own letters and those of his wife Their correspondence was regularly copied by under-spies, and no document, of how ever private a nature, escaped examination. The communications between the daughter of our Queen and her august mother, and the other members of her family in Eng land, were the special objects of this espionage, the telegraphic service being forced to render up its secrets, and experts in the interpretation of cypher being em- ployed to translate the messages into Ger- man. It may be imagined that the sick emperor and his faithful consort must have felt the deepest indignation against the crafty politicians who thus shamelessly in- truded on their privacy and made their livesa constant torture of apprehension lest some unguarded expression should have compromised them with their watch- ful toes. The precent emperor has a plain duty to perform in view of his father's known wishes or intentions as tu the re- form of Prussian administration and especially as to clearing its personnel of creatures like Von Putkamer. ee

The steamer Heather Belle plies between Charlottetown and Belfast on Tuesday, Wed- nesday and Thursday of each week ; on each Friday between Charlottetown and Cranberry Wharf, going on alternate Fridays to Mount Stewart ; and on each Saturday between Crapaud and Charlottetown. The steamer Eldon plies between Charlotte- town and Pinette, Vernon River Bridge and Murray Harbor on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays of each week.

The steamer Southport leaves Charlottetown for Shaw's Wharf, calling at Rocky Point and Westville, on the afternoons of Mondays, Tues- days and Fridays, at 4p. m., (local time); and leaves Shaw’s Wharf for Charlottetown on the mornings of Tuesday and Friday at 7 a. m. (local time), calling at Westville and Rocky Point. The same steamer leaves Char- lottetown for Rocky Point on Tuesdays and Fridays, at 9.30 a. m. and 2 p. m. (local time), and on Wednesdays and Sa urdays at 8.30 a. m., and 9.30 a m., and at 2 and 4 p. m. (local time).
