The London murder trial of Dr. John Bodkin Adams mounted in drama. with keen duelling over the case against the physician who is charged with drugging an old widow to death.

Geoffrey Lawrence. brilliant dc- fence counsel. wrung an admis- sion from an expert Crown med- ical witness that the widow actu- ally lived longer than could be "reasonably" expected.

The St. George's Junior farmers held their regular meeting at the home of Gerald Johnston on March 21st with a good attendance. The President called the meeting to ord- er and the minutes of the last re- llular meeting were read and ap- proved.

HEROINE - Fourteen-year-old Joan Maccormick of Tuft's Cove, N.S. pulled two small children from the path of a CNR Freight train only 100 yards away at Wind- sor Junction recently. She had to toss one of them into a ditch when he scrambled on the line again. with the train hardly 25 yards away. Joan is a daughter of John Maccormick. formerly of St. Georges. and Mrs. MacCor- mick. the former Mary MacAulay of Cardigan.
