indicate that the Admiral, having failed to fiad the enemy at the place he expected, had tursed‘his atten:ion to the alternative project. :

What this is cannot be ascertained. It is evident that the department is under no apprehension as to the safety of ihe fleet, nor of any vesseia of the fleet.
