The wharves were all more or less flooded, On Pownal wharf the tide worked its way into the warehouse, slightly damaging some sugar and oats before they could be removed. The tide also got into a section of the ware house on Queen’ 8 wharf, but no damage worth mentioning was done. There was so much water on Peake’s No. 2 wharf that it was al- most impossible to reach the Stanley without the assistance of a team.
