NEW YORK (AF)-The stock market tumbled off in its worst fall in 14 months last week, the

15th anniversary of the great crash of 1920. The decline, however. was I

pale salute to the hysterical days of October. 1929, when billions of dollars were lost.

Last week the Associated Press average of 60 stocks declined 32.90, the most Ior any week since the final week of August. 1953, when the average was off 33.

On black Tuesday. Oct. 29, 1929. the Associated Preiis average skidded down 511.20 and closed at 393.50.

The market last week fell mod- erately every single day. The daily average of trading came to only 2,008,000, slightly higher than the average so far this year. ELECTION BLAMED

In Wall Street it, was generally accepted that the election next Tuesday had the most to do with the fall. Brokers and traders have been far from unanimous in their guesses as to the outcome of the voting. -

New Deadline For War Claims

OTTAWA, (CP)--The government has ordered another two-month ex- tension in the deadline for all types of second World War claims by Canadians.
