The 1979-80.yearbook is on its way to the . I , Printers. The boOk was completed last weekend and Will appear back on campus in April. An additional Year end supplement to inclUde senior week and a Sports Wrap up will be available later.

The two of them, along with photographers Derwin Banks, Todd MacLaughlan, and Richard Lee, ' worked Virtually alohe, and so the credit for the 5::cessfully completed task belongs solely with t m. l - .

Photographer Derwin Banks has advised the SUN _ that never before has a UPEI yearbook been finished/ °n time. Indeed, even deadlines were rarely met.

Traditionally UPEl yearbooks have been notoriously late. At best they have appeared only the September

after they were due. This has meant that many students

have had to leave campUS without their books, and

Building. , I Another problem is that late yearbooks tend to be

'overly expensive. [For each missed copy deadline

printing companies charge late fees, and in UPEI's case these additional fees have sometimes been

'crippling. The extra expense has taken its toll in

the length of past books. While-most universities have two hundred page yearbooks, late fees have helped force UPEl to keep its book in the one hundred fifty page range. - ’ l

The most important fact; however, is that for this year at least these problems have been conquered. John Gallant and Nora MacAdam have

gproduced a yearbook in fine style and in record

time. In doing so they have saved the Student Union money and provided graduating students with unprecedented convenience. For this we of the SUN staff salute them for a job well done. If all UPEl students had their dedication, the student apathy problem would be no more.
