AN INSANE country girl, named Living ston, created a number of sensations at different parts of this City yesterday even- ing. She- signified her intention of com- mitting suicide to several persons, and was proceeding to, no doubt, execute her inten- tion, when prevented by a policeman. She afterwards entered the St. Lawrence Hotel, kicked up a general racket, ans 1 was in a short time ejected by the combined forces of three stout housemaids. The police took her in charge and gave her to her friends.

Father Lacasse, an Oblat Missionary priest, who has been for six years doing missionary service among the “Esquimaux and the Niscoperre Indians. He is the first Catholic missionary who has ever perform- ed any successful missionary labors among the Esquimauxs, and is now proceeding to

Accipent.—We regret to learn that Mr. Hill (of the Customs Department) and Mrs. Hill, met with a painful accident while driving this afternoon. As they were turn- ing the corner at St. Patrick’s Hall, Mr. Hill fell from the wagon; the horse went on at arapid pace, and, at the corner of Richmond and Queen Streets, the horse ran foul of a post, and Mrs. Hill was toss sed out before the door of Messrs. J. & ' Beers’ store. She was carried to Mr. W. Dodd’s residence, where Dr. McLeod at- tended her. She .s out about the face, and badly shaken.
