The delegates have every reason to be satis- tied with the results of their Jabors so tar. The papers during the past few days have been discussing the question fully and in more favorable tones. Even the Times, which originally ridiculed the idea of buy- ins out French rights, now admits that it is worth while to make an effort gradualiy. A truer notion of the real facts of the case is boing grasped by the press and public men.

A Prosperous Year.

Phis has been a very prosperous year for Acadia college aud the Institutes generally. The number of registered students was 134 and of this number 19 graduate. The Senate has been in session all day. It will recommend the granting of some honorary degrees, and two or three graduates wil) receive the degree of M. A. The senate has under consideration the question of the relation of the Senate to the Government and also that of increasing the efficiency of the staff. The closing ceremonies of Hor- ton take place to-morrow afternoon, and of Acadia Seminary in the evening. The exercises are set for Thursday morning and in the evening a repetition will be given tothe alumni by the grad- uate classes,

A special despatch to the Mail from Washington says that three Canadian rail- ways to which the United’ States have granted bonding privileges are charged with violating treasury regulations, and that this is at the basis of the enquiry which is proposed by Senator Cullon as to the operation of the bonding system and as to the expediency of continuing that sys- tem.
