-The-monthly meeting oi the Malpeque Women's Institute met at the home of Mrs. Frank Bsatrslo on Wednesday evening, Jan. 2 with the president presiding.

Meeting opened by members re- peating "Ciub Women's Creed" in unison and the minutes of previ- ous meeting read pnd approved as lead. Treasurer reported some or. hand.

Correspondence was read and discussed. and several "thank you" letters were also read. sick com- mittee reported 10 boxes and 20 Christmas cards sent to sick and shut-ins at Christmas. New com- mittees were appointed as Iollows: Sick Committee, Mrs. Russell Craig and Mrs. ' E. Bryenton. School Conimittee. Mrs. Duncan McGou- gan and Mrs. Milton Ramsay.

It was decided to give 3255.00 to school trustees and ways and means were discussed to raise money tor the Institute. It was decided to divide the Institute into three teams, each team to have some way to make money.

Roll call for February is to be. answered with a Valentine, and the place of meeting was not de- cided. Lunch committee will be Mrs. Earl Taylor, Mrs. Keith Don- ald and Mrs. Fred Champion. A delicious lunch was served by Mrs. K. Owen. Mrs. H. Stewart and Mrs. Chas. Lockhart. Collection amount- ed to s3.60.

SHAMROCK W.I.

-The Shamrock Women's In- siltute meeting for January was held at the home of Mrs. Emmett Hughes. There were l5 members and one visitor present.

Each member answered the roll call by giving I). new year's resolu- tion and the meeting opened with '.lll'i recital of the "Ode."

The minutes were read. approv- cd and signed by the president and one thank you card was read. .

The committees gave their re- ports and new committees were appointed as follows: Sick. Mrs. John Emmett Mulligan and Mrs. L'oiiel Cairns. Program. Mrs. Am- by Mccardle and Mrs. Joseph Ha- pzin. Lunch, Mrs. Anthony Stordy, Mrs. Patrick Mccardle. Mrs. Free- man Walsh and Mrs. Joseph Trainer. School. re-appointed.

It was decided to have card par- ties ln the school and to play auc- tion from eight to eleven and give two prizes. one to the highest score for gentlemen and one to the highest ior the ladies.

The patches were removed of an apron which had been started some months ago and it brought a sum of sli.0l going to the high- est bidder. Mrs. Joseph Trslnor. It was also voted to give a gift of s5.00 to the Kelly twins.

The January meeting of the Oyster Bed Bridge Women's In- stitute met at Mrs. Philip Mathe- scn's with eight. members present.

The meeting opened with the "Ode" and "Creed", followed by roll call which was answered by paying the height of each mem- her. This amounted to Else.

The treasurer reported 87.85 from auction sale also t.hat s4.44 was paid for candy and nuts (or school children at Christmas, anti 36:: postage. It was decided to collect for the orphanage and buy a pencil sharpener for school.

The next meeting is to be held at Mrs. Howard Carr's on March 4. Roll call will be a nickel. The meeting closed with the National Anthem and the program consisted of musical selections by Misses Margaret Mstheson and Jean Carr. A delicious lunch was served by the hostess.
