The Scott replied: — | * Well, as near as I can make out, this Khedive is about the worst man of the! whole lot of ‘em, He ain’t got do sort; o courage ner manhood about him,| and as soon as we get out of this old,! Arabi'’s beggars will make a sort of | ‘haggis’ out of him.” The conversation | was at this interesting point sinter-- | rupted by the appearance of the guard relief, who presented arms to the| Kheiive, and then revealed to the} Highlander, now utteriy discomfited | and as red as a lobster, the fact that he | had been talking to no less a personage | than the successor of the Pharohs.—N.
