AN old woman named Dina Mahar, who has previously been an inmate of the Lunatic Asylum, was found aimlessly wandering about the streets last night. The police lodged her in the station and let her go this morning.

‘Tuners were shipped 10,000 tons coal from Pictou last week. Of this the Halifax com- pany shipped 5,689 tons, which is the largest quantity ever shipped by that company in one week for many years.

Goop Wheat ano Oats.—J. 8, Lueas, Esq., Cocagne, threshed from eight stooks of wheat of the ordinary size of twelve sheaves, six bushels of clean wheat, which isconsidered a good yield. Tae Rev. Mr. Murray, Bue- touche, thresied from three bushels sowing, tifty bushels of oats, weighing about 39 lbs. to the bushel. This shows the benefit of mussel mud which is used extensively by Mr. Mur- ray.—Moncton Times

Two French boys, aged respectively twelve and fifteen, belonging to the schooner Plover, of Arichat, were drowned off Shediac on Thursday afierncon by the upsetting of a small boat while returning to the schooner from the shore with wood. The bodies were recovered on Friday morning. The Captain, their father, is much grieved at the loss, hav- ing lost an ol:ler son last summer in Charlotie- town harber from the same boat.
