-The regular meeting of Darn- ley and Sea View Auxiliary of the W. M. 8. met at the home of Mrs. Morley Crozier on November 12th.

The leader was Mrs. Crozier for the worship. and hymn 510 "From Ocean Unto Ocean" d the meeting. several passages of scripture were read. all members taking part. followed by prayer. Another hymn closed this period.

Mrs. Fulton Simmons took charge of the second chapter of Study Book entitled "Church of City Frontiers". Several of the members read portions of the chapter.

Roll call. was answered by I verso containing the word "Peace" by six membe s. and the minutes of last meetihg were read and ap- proved.

Correspondence consisted of I letter regarding "Buildinp Ad- vance" and collection was then token. Thank-offering envelope: were handed in and the Friend- ship secretary reported one hos- pital call. one letter. six cards. six treats. three get-well cards. ten sympathy cords. and seven calls or. homes.

On Wednesday evening. November 2lst.. the members of the 0'I.eor,v Corinthian Lodge Number l9 held a most enjoyable banquet in the O'Leary Legion Home. There were about one hundred and fifty pres- ent. including members and their wives.

Rose Valley W.l. . Annual Meeting

The annual meeting of the Rose, Valley Women's Institute was heldl on November 7th at the home of Mrs. Wm. MacDonald. The vice- president presided and the meet- ing opened by repeating the Creed in unison. followed by roll call, which was responded to by six members. One visitor was also present.

The minutes of the last. regular and annual meetings were read and approved and the school com- mittee gave their report.

The following officers were then elected for the coming year:

President, Mrs. James Cousins: vice-president, Mrs. Jas. MacIn- tosh; secretary-treasurer, Mrs. Er- iand Cousins; directors, Mrs. Heli- ry Chowan. Mrs. J. W. MacKen- zie. and Mrs. Wm. MacDonald: auditors. Mrs. J. W. M:icKenzie and Mrs. Henry Chowan; Red Cross Convener, Mrs. James Mac- Intosh.

The secretaryis report was read and adopted. A "thank you” note was received from one of the members, also from the Sunset Lodge, and a. receipt for the Can- cer Collection.

An appeal for workers for the Red Cross was read and new work ordered. The first lesson on ”In- terlor Decorating" was read.

Mrs. James Cousins invited the members to her home for the De- cember meeting, with roll call to be answered by an exchange of Christmas gifts. Mrs. J. W. Mac- Kenzie and Mrs. Henry Chowan to have charge of the program.

Collection was taken and am- ounted to 30:. An interesting flower contest was put on by Mrs. Macintosh, and won by Mrs. Mac- Kenzie.

The meeting adjourned and a delicious lunch was then served by the hostess.

Westinoreland W.l. Annual Meeting

The annual meeting of West- morcland Women's Institute was held on November ml: at the homc of Mrs. Hal Ragerson. One visitor was present and twelve members answered the roll call by paying dues.

Minutes of the last annual and regular meeting were read and approved. and it was decided to purchase the articles needed for the school.

New committees were appointed as follows:

-The annual meeting of Mai- peque Women's Institute was held at the home of Mrs. G. W. Ram- say on Wednesday, November 14. Sixteen members answered the roll call by paying membership fees, and minutes of the last regu- lar and annual meetings were read by the secretary.

Treasurer then gave her report. showing that the Institute had a very successful year nnancinlly, with 3576.13 raised for the year.

Mrs. Charles Lockhart was then appointed to take the cliair for the election of officers with the following results:

President. Mrs. Kenneth Owen: vice-president. Mrs. John McNutt; secretary. Mrs. Herbie Stewart: treasurer. Mrs. Claude Barrett.

Auditors. Mrs. hank McNutt and Mrs. Preston Green: Blue Cross, Mrs. Charles Lockhart.

School committee reported new blinds were purchased for school. and the sick committee reported get-well cards had been sent to sick. and fruit to sick in hospital. New school committee for next two months will be Mrs. Frank Beairsto and Mrs. Earl Taylor: school committee, Mrs. Keith Donald and Mrs-. Russell Craig.

The retiring president. Mrs. John McNutt, gave a summary of the year's work. thanking all for their help in making the year so sue- ccssful, and wishing the new pre- sident every success. A hearty vote of thanks was tendered all the re- tiring officers for their splendid work the two years they were in office.

It was decided to pack a box to send to one of the boys who is in Korea, and each member was ask- cd to donate something for the box. Mrs. Gerald Lockhart and Mrs. Earl Taylor offered to pack the box.

Mrs. Frank Beairsto invited the Institute for the December meet- ing, roll call to be answered with a gift for s, child in the Orphan- age. Program and lunch commit- tee are: Mrs, G. W. Ramsay. Mrs. R Craig. and Mrs. D, Mccvougan.

A delicious lunch was served by the committee in charge. Mrs. F. Beairsto, Mrs. F. McNutt. and Mrs Claude Barrett. ,

Mrs. H. S. MacEwen entertained the members of sterling Women's Institute at her home for their November meeting. The president. Mrs. Elmer Fyfc presided. and the meeting opened by singing "0 Canada". followed by the Creed in unison. There were nineteen mem- bers and three visitors present.

The roll call was answered by paying fees and the minutes of the last. annual. regulnr and spe- cial meetings wcre read and ap- proved.

Thc president gave her report. thanking the members for their co-operation and outlining the ac- tivities of the past year. The Ice- retary treasurer reported a bal- ance of 3242.78 from the previous year. Receipts for the year were 5428.02. and expenditures 3485.10.

Mrs. Fletcher gave a splendid report on the work done in the; canteen. The visiting committee reported four visits made and treats taken: also flowers sent. to a sick member in hospital. The school committee reported having visited the school. .
