Twenty deaths from sunstroke occurred yesterday, and as many more this morning. Two hundred and sixty babies less than a year old fell sick and died from heat. Orrawa, July 18. Hon. Mr. Thompson, Minister of Justice, has issued his warrant forthe extradition of Buzon, who is wanted at Brussels, Bel- gium, on a charge of fraudulent bankruptcy and embezzlement. He is now in Montreal jail.

Tue New York City Directory, issued last
week, contains 2175 pages of names, number-
ing in all 324,813, and indicating a population
of 1,600,000. There are 2,300 Smiths, 1800 Browns and 900 Joneses enrolled.
A Most remarkable occurrence followed a negro funeral at Mount Pleasant, about six miles south of Nashville, Tenn., one day last week, nine negroes being killed by a single stroke of lightning. The party had scarcely left the grave when a most severe thunder and rain storm burst upon them. All immediately ran for trees scattered about the graveyard. Searcely had the nine negroes reached the shelter of an immense a when a terrific thunder cloud burst and the tree was struck. The whole party of nine tumbled down to- gether and died instantly.
