After reading about the Credit Union I am convinced that I should become a member because or the benefits which 1 may ob- tails and of the greet assistance I I may glv. to others through my membership in tho Credit Uh.- ion. ‘

Olne of the first mvantsaes is that, tho Credit Union encourages thrift by providing a safe, con- vetulent and attractive sneillan for thg investment of the savings of its members. In this way I am encouraged. to save aa much money as possible. Secondly, it promotes industry by qllminating

shoeing power of its mes-when. ‘ihirdly it enables mo to borrow for productive and other benefi- cial purposes at a reasonable rate of interest; in this way I em assisted in my business under- takings. Illourthb’, it trains its manbers in business methods and in self-govenunent thus bringing them to a realisation of the true meaning of the Credit Union. namely, to train an independent and self-reliant race of people who will b; desirous cf helping one another.

Another reason why I should belong to a Credit Union is that I may borrow if in need. Here are acme of the purposes for which I may need a loan to pur- .- chase clothing, to pay taxes, or to pay medical expenses or even to pay my insurance.

Herbert J. Tralnnr died at. the home of his brother-in-law Jolm H. McNally of Donagh on April 12th. Deceased was a. life long resident of this district and was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Patrick J. Tralnor. He had been in falling health for several months. During his illness he was attended fre- quently by his kind pastor Rev. Louis J. Callaghan. Hla funeral took place to Fort Augustus Church where Requiem High Mass was sung by Rev. Father Callaghan. It was very largely attended by his many friends despite the almost impassable roads. The pal! bearers were his three nephews, Leo, Leo- nard and Lev! McNa1!y also Law- rence Tralnor, Russell Beagan and William Keoughan. Ho ls survived by one brother Leo J. Trainer. Donagh and three sisters, Mrs. J. P. McNally, Donagh, Mrs. Board, Webster's Corner, and Mrs. M. Callaghan, Charlottetown. May his soul rest in peace. '
