SIR; The half—yearly Examination of the pupils at the Control Academy took place on the 14th inst., in the presence of His Excellency the Lieui. Governor, the Cliichustice, Col. Line, and several other literary gentlemen, as well as parents of‘the children, and all had reason to express themselves highly grati- fied with the progress whiéh the boys had made in their several branches of study—comprising English Reading—Geography"- Matliematics---and the French, Latin and Greek languages. The pupils in the higher classics especially acquitted themselves in a manner highly creditable both to themselves and to their teachers; and those in thejunior classes evidently showed that they - were well grounded. l was sorry to observe, that more ofthose immediately interested in the prosperity of the Institution were not present, and that it seems tomeet with so little general conn- tenance and support, which, in my opinion, would not be the case ifits merits were better known.
