TORONTO (CPl—Unless you have above-average knowledge of fur quality you should buy your coat from s furrier. and one with a good reputation. says a Toronto manufacturer.

"You must have confidence in the individual you are buying a garment from," say: Bernard Dorfman. “With that you Will usually get good service and a coat with good wearability. If you buy a bargain you get what you pay for."

Lustre. silky textum. pliabil- ity of the leather and uniform- ity of color are all signs of good furs, but unless you're an ex pert you will need to compare them with other furs.

Buy the best quality in a fur you can afford rather than poor quality in a fur too expensive for your budget. Mr. Dorfman says. Then be sure to buy some- thing you really like. not some- thing that ma e swish but does nothing for you.

"The basic things are that the for should flatter the woman and that it should fit. A fur coat has a certain amount of weight. It must balance and fit well or it will not be comfortable. It should feel as if it is hers when she tries it on."

If you're tall you can wear Just about any fur but if you are under five-foot-five you may look best in an Alaska seal, Persian lamb or broadtail. Mr. Dorfman says.
