Antigonish Bishop ls Buried Tuesday

ANTIGONISH, N.S. (P)~— Bishop John R. MacDonald, fifth Roman Catholic bishop of the diocese of Antigonish, was buried here Tuesday in St. Ninian’s cemetery overlooking the cathe- dral church he served as curate, rector, administrator and bishop.

Bishop MacDonald died Friday after a lengthy illness. He was 68.

A solemn crowd packed St. Ninian’s Cathedral to pay final tribute to the churchman affec- tionately known as “Bishop J R.” The gathering eae church officials and government representatives.
