HOUSTON, Tex. (AP) The American League will consider a proposal by Hank Greenberg. Cleveland Indians general manu- ger, to study operation as a l0-club league in 1956 as the baseball caravan moves to New York Mon- day for the major league meetings.

Grecnbcrg will advocate naming of a committee to investigate the merits of expanding the league to 10 clubs, with authority to inform reputable groups that two franch- iscs will be awardctl upon proof of financial stability and stadium requirements.

According to the American League agenda. Greenberg sug- gests the committee should report at the 1955 summer meetings, with a schedule and all other matters pertinent to a I0-club league. so that the league can expand to 10 clubs by the 1956 season.
