The Cashmere Earthquake.

An official despateh from Seringaur gives the number of killed and wound- ed by the earthquake there on Sunday and Monday last as follows: Killed 87, wounded 100. Official reports have not been received yet from the other points in the vale of Cashmere affected by the earthquake shock and until these come to hand the full extent of the calamity cannot be known. The reports, how- ever, are of such an alarming charac- ter as to make it more than likely that the earthquake will prove even more disasterous in its effects than the first despatches stated them to be. Whole cities and towns in ‘The Vale’ are spoken of as destroyed and the absence of defi- nte news is attributed io the demolition of telegraph lines.
