[In vain did Odoardo struggle with the notes of the cantata; they insisted on forming themselves into the horrible jingle of the piano-org Having torn out several handsful of his hair, the composer went to a magistrate and craved the law, the con- seyuence being that the street musician was fined. Whether this result is to be re- joiced at or not depends upon the quality of the cantata. it may be that many a bored audience will wish, between yawns, that the piano-organ had nipped the cantata in the bud.
