On ti shirts of the thin materials which ar: to be much worn next season, the col- lars are of white linen. Sleeves am very full at the top and finely gathered into the armhole. Where they join the cuff they are fuller than last year. Some of the cheviot shirts have bish- op’s sleeves, but they are not as pretty as in the thin stuffs, as it makes them rather bulky. The cuffs are about three inches deep, and are made of the same material as the shirt and may have square or round corners, the square being smarter. The thin shirts, such as lawn and batiste, have bishop's Fleeves and turned-back cuffs, with which no slceve-links are worn, but buttons only under the cuff, where it is turned back. If one prefers they may have embroidered bands to finish the sleeve. Many of these thin blouses have fancy fronts, insertion let in, em- broicered bands or fine tucks, and with them may be worn satin stocks and pleated belts of different colors.

A typewriter for the use of the blind “as been invented. It works like an or- nary typewriter in impressing the print of the letter, but also makes a reised cut on the side, by which the lind can read. Matter written in this way can be used beth by the blind and those who can see.

Imitation Cut Glass.

Pressed glass is bought now-a-days in very pretty forms and unobtrusive patterns. It may be made to glitter into a close imitation of cut glass by wetting it with a thick lather of some good soap powder, letting that dry on it, and then rubbing the dish quickly with a dry cloth until it shines.
