Feb. 3 - The Natural History Society’s regular meeting will feature the third part of the bird identification course with Dwaine Oakley showing an illustrated presentation Waterfowl of Prince Edward Island. The meeting starts at 7:30 PM at the Farm Centre on University Avenue in Charlottetown. YN

Feb. 13 to 16 - The Great Backyard Bird Event will allow backyard birders to collect information on our local birds and submit them on live to give a mid-winter view of our feathered friends. The web address is http://www.birdsource.org/gbbc/

Feb. 21 - The Natural History Society will be holding a Field Trip to Look for Wintering Waterfowl in the Charlottetown and Cardigan areas. Travel will be in personal vehicles via car pool. The group will meet at 8:00 am sharp at the Farm Centre. If possible, please register with Dwaine Oakley at 569-1815 or via E-mail at oakleym@east1ink.ca

Mar. 2 - The Natural History Society’s regular meeting will feature Don Steeves who will speak on Honey Bees on Prince Edward Island. The meeting starts at 7:30 PM at the Farm Centre on University Avenue in Charlottetown. YN

Mar. 24 - The Public Forest Council’s video launch for “The Forest More Than Just a Bunch of Trees” will be hosted by Bob Bancroft. The launch will be held at Carrefour at 7:30 pm. Note: the storm date Mar. 25.

Mar. 26 - The five naked eye planets and the Moon will be strung across the evening sky during the first few days (from Blomidon Field Naturalists)

Apr. 6 - The Natural History Society’s regular meeting will feature the fourth part of the bird identification course with Eric Marcum showing the slide presentation Songbirds 1: Warblers, Vireos, & Thrushes.

Apr. 16 - The Island Nature Trust’s 20‘h Annual Fund Raising Dinner will be held at the Delta Prince Edward in Charlottetown. Contact the Trust at 566-9150 to order tickets.

May 4 - The Natural History Society’s regular meeting will feature Dan McAskill on the Night Sounds of the Island, an audio presentation and slides of various night animals. YN
