What is Necessary to Make a Horse Standard-bred.

On November lst next the new rales, as to the qualification of or what constitutes a standard ured boree, will go into opera~ tion. We herewith give them, so al! in terested bad better cut them from this paper and preserve them for future refer- ence:—

THE NEW STANDARD,

1—The progeny of@ registered stand- ard trottiog horse aud’a registered standard trotting mare.

2—A stallion sired by a registered stand- ard trotting horse, and whose dam and grandam were sired by registered standard trotting horses and be bimselfybad a trott- ing record of 2.30 and is the sire of three trotters with records of 2.30 from different mares.

3—A mare whose sire is a registered standard trotting horse, and whose daw and grandam were sired by registered Standard trotting horses, provided she her- self has a trotting record of 230 or is the dam of one trotter with & record of 2.30

4—Avy mare sired by a registered stand ard trotting horse provided sbe is the dam of two trotters with records of 2.30 by different sires.

5—A mare sired by a registered, stand- dar. trotting horse, provided his first, second and third dams are by a regiateres standard trotting horse.

Therules for pacers are identical with those for trotiers, except that the time standard is 225 .There is also an addition »l rule governing horses of so-called mix- ed breeding. It is:

6—The progeny of a registered standard trotting horse out of a registered siandard paciog mere; or ihe progeny ofa regi-iered standard pacing horse,out of a registered standard trotting mare j,shall be elegible to be registered as a standard pacer.
