Financial Aid

Several bursaries are available for the second semester through the UPEI Memorial Bursary Fund:

— Bernardine HalLResidence Bursary: A $500 award :\ offered to a Junior or Senior female student living in Bernar» dine Hall who has lived there for at least two years. She must have a 70% average or better last semester and must write an essay describing how she has participated in residence life at Bernardine.

— Part-time Studen. Bursary: This is the first year for this $150 award. The award is offered to part-time students in need of financial assista. ~

— UPEI Memorial Award: Several awards ranging from $125 to $300 are available LU tun-time students for second semester. One of the majc: criteria in choice of award recipients is need for financial ssistance.

Applications may be picked up in the Registrar’s Office or in the Department of Student Services. Completed applica- tions should be returned by February 8, I985.

TOURISM SCHOLARSHIP

This award is sponsored by the Tourism Industry Associa— tion of PEI. The $1000 scholarship is offered to students 17 to 25 years of age who hope to pursue a career in the hospitality industry. Students must maintain an averae of 70% and make every attempt to find employment in the hospitality industry in the summer months.

CIDA

This award is made to a student pursuing post graduate studies related to the field of International Development and Cooperation. The academic program must include a substati- tial period of field work in one or more developing countries. The amount of the award ranges up to $15,000/yr. The dead» line for receipt of applications is January 31.
