HOME FROM OVERSEAS —-The many friends of Sgt. A. E. Ling, New Glasgow will welcome the news of his safe arrival home from overseas. He came over on thc Queen Elizabeth which docked at New York, Dec. 28th. arriving home in time to spend a very joy- ous New Year's day with loved ones. He spent four years and four months in the service, almost three years of this time was spent overseas. He reports to Dartmouth, gas. for his discharge February

Thefts and breaks have been 0c- enrring with fair regularity in Summerside recently but early yesterday morning things got really busy when two breaks were reported at about the same time at separated parts of the town. About three o'clock a break was reported at. Jenkins Grnceteria on Central Street and while police were investigating there they rc- ccived a call about suspicious ac- tivity at the C.N.R. Station. They immediately proceeded there and found that the public‘ pay tele- phone and money box had been torn from the wall and stolen.
