For the first time in a quarter of a century, the Atlantic Canada’s Performing Arts Showcase and Conference, Contact East, will be held in Summerside, Prince Edward Island from October 16" to 19". An estimated 200 delegates, including national and international buyers, agents, and promoters of live performances are coming to enjoy this beautiful seaside city and experience a multitude of Atlantic and Canadian performances by over 40 showcase artists in ineonee, music, and dance. Some stipulations for this event are:

e Contact East will showcase only artists who have a marketable product relevant to the presenters, and the professional ability to take advantage of a showcase and possible performance offers.

e Contact East will present conference sessions and workshops with relevant topics, paneled by knowledgeable and experienced professionals.

e Contact East will ensure all showcases and business sessions are scheduled without conflicting with other sessions.

¢ Contact East will ensure all showcase artists are fully aware of all elements of the event and are provided with ey technical support to perform the best showcase possible.

e Contact East will heavily promote the event, particularly the individual showcase sessions, locally to ensure each artist performs to a full house and that the presenters have audience response to gauge the marketability of each act.

This spectacular event is a wonderful opportunity for performing artists to present themselves in front of interested national and international buyers, agents and promoters. More details will be released in May at a press conference to be held at the Jubilee Theatre, the host venue of this year’s event. Deadline for artist submissions for Contact East is March 30, 2005.
