Two Juveniles were taken into custody by Surnmenide police on Saturday night charged with tak- ing I half-ton truck and they ml! also be charged with two car thefts the previous night. The truck. I new 1951 Dodge, be- lollllnl to Mr. Willard MacDon- Ild. Dodge dealer. had been stol- en from outside the old curling rink which Mr. MacDonald is us- lfix for car storage purposes. The theft was discovered about eight o'clock and police were im. mediately notified and sent out an alarm to the R.C.M.P. and the R.C.A.F. service police. About 9.30 a call was received at the police station from the guard house at the airport that the truck had arrived there and they were holding two persons. When the local police arrived at the airport they found two Summerllde boys. ivzes 13 and 14. No Ignition key was in the truck when it was taken and the youngsters had got it going by crossing wires in the ignition system.

The same boys are alleged to have been implicated in I joy riding escapade the night before. When employees of A. Home and Co. Ltd. came to work Saturday morning they saw that the door A storage garage on First Street had been forced open and about the same time they noticed that two cars which should have been inside were on the -parking lot adjacent.

The cars were a new 1951 Chevrolet and a used 1950 Chev- rolet. On checking the new Chev. it was noticed that 65 miles were registered on the speedometer whereas the car had never been driven at all. The mileage on the other showed that it had gone fl similar distance. In this case the keys were left in the (tars be- cause they might have to he mov- Efl quickly if a fire occurred. Some one. not likely a prospective customer. had tried both of them out during the night.-S.
