The following program was presented: The meaning of Christmas was told by Marlene MacGowan, James Buell, Bar- bara Shaw, Norma Reid and Kenneth Campbell. It was inter- spersed with a number of carols by the junior and intermediate pupils.

A visit from Santa with treats for all the children caused a good deal of excitement and brought to a close I very de- lightful entertainment.

Geo’town Credit Union Sets Dividend As Two Per Cent

GEORGETOWN — A dividend of two per cent was approved at the annual meeting of the Georgean Credit Union which was held in St. James Parish hall recently.

The dividend was approved on share capital of $14,206.95 tram $206.85 which is available for dividends.

The Credit Union has a mem~ bership of 121 and the meeting was attended by a good repre« eentation of officers and mem- bers. The present assets of the Credit Union are $15,370.42 and the guarantee fund amounts to 8883.31 loans. as of September 80th amounted to $9,781.00.

Death Occurs Of Mrs. J. MacMiIIan

The death of Mrs. Joseph B. MacMill‘an, St. Peter's. occurred Sunday in Brookline, Massachu- setts, following a very brief ill- ness. [She was in her 72nd year.

Since 1956 the late Mrs. Mac- Millan had spent the greater part of each year in Brookline, where she resided with her daughter Mrs. Mary Condon.

A daughter of the late Thomas and Mrs. Larkin, she was the last survivor of her immediate family. Two brothers, William and Justin ore-deceased her.

Besides Mrs. Condon. she

ls survived by three sons, William and Louis at home, and Martin, an employee of the Royal Bank,

Present Concert At Little Sands

A most enjoyable Christmas concert was held in the Little Sands hall on Friday evening, December 19. A good crowd was in attendance.

The pupils of Little Sands School and their teacher, Miss Velma Stewart presented a pro- gram of songs. carols, recita- tions. drills and dialogues. The singing was excellent and the recitations good and the dialo- gues amusing. '

The whole program showed painstaking effort on the part of the teacher and a lot of study' by the pupils.

After a very enjoyable pro- gram Santa Claus (in the per- son of Angus MacKay) delighted young and old with his mimics and tricks and fun. The children themselves were delighted and they and the teacher received many and varied gifts from his bountiful hands.

Santa Claus departed wishing all “A very Merry. Merry Christ- mas and a Happy New Year." The chairman, Malcolm Mac- Neill expressed appreciation to the teacher in her untiring ef- forts.

After all joined in the "Queen", all departed for their homes. feeling they had lots of fun and a pleasant evening.
