U.r.I.c.E.r. "Fast-ApThon"

This past week-end an unknown number of students went without food for forty-eight hours. The reason was to raise money for U.N.I.C.E.F. It was quite successful.

{zany stayed in the chapel for the full forty—eight hours. It is known at present that onlt two of the participants broke down and ended up eating but the remainder stayed through thick and thin hav— ing only water to consume.

During the period from December 18 to January 1 ofthis year, the National Audubon Society iseconp ducting its annual Christmas Bird Count. This count is conducted throughout North America by amateur and professional bird-watchers who have a desire to add to the general knowledge of the creatures they study with such fascination.,The results of all the counts are publishesiin a specal issue entitled "Christ- mas Bird Count.“ The names of all observers are also listed.

Prince Edward Island has never been represented in a count, and I think it is about time we let the rest of the country in on our long-kepti secrets. For this reason, I am organizing a count this year; and

I would certainly appreciate some assistance,. Here is a chance to meet other birders and exchange sightings, meet new people to conduct trips, and, generally, to advance the cause of bird study.

If you feel that you might be able to hedp in the organization, or as merely in the participation of

the count, please do not hesitate to drop me a note in the mail.
