This position is estab- lished in very general terms by Section 32 of the University Act. It says (1) There shall be a Comp- troller appointed by the Board who shall keep the accounts\of the University and perform such other du— ties as the Board or Pres— ident may require.

(2) The Comptroller holds office during the pleasure of the Board.

More specifically, the Comptroller is responsible 'directly or through a Man- ager or Supervisor for the following general areas:

-Work with Architects, con- tractors and university users in development and construction of new facil- ities and the renovation of present facilities. Act as University Iiason during the period of construction 7) Athletics-

-Member of University Athletic Board

9) Represent the University on various committees as set out by the Atlantic and Canadian Associations of University Business Offic— ers e.g. - Member of come mittee established to de— velop a new financial in- formation system for Atlan— tic Universities: - Chairman of committee established to study the .cost of athletics at the Atlantic Universities..

10) Such other duties as the President may indicate from time to time.

, Here the University has

gravelled the walk and planted shrubs. They also seeded it in an attempt to make the grass grow.

Students have cut an angle“

wearing a path through the grass and destroying a small shrub. Thus they have saved themselves at least two steps. Definitely they are to be commended on this

effort to preserve their limited supply of energy. They are definitely to be congratulated on the effort they have made in quest— ioning their,habits and re— ordering their lives as their enviornment Changes. Or have they noticed that the enviornment has changed?
