The community of Milltowa Cross was shocked on Nov. 17th, 1959 to hear of the sudden pass- ing of Peter Daniel MacDonald from a heart attack.
Mr, MacDonald was born ; Souris, March 22nd, 1881, son | the late Alfred and Elizabeth Stewart) MacDonald.
He spent most of his life in the U.S.A. and was Inspector of Uni- ted Electric Railway Company, for many years in Providence, R.I. Mr. MacDonald retired in 1946 and made his home in Mill- | town Cross until his death.
He was a member of the _—. dist Church in Providence and later joined the Presbyterian church in Montague. When un- able to attend church he enjoyed the sermons on the radio especial- ly the Sunday evening program “The Family Bible Hour.”
His former wife, Miss Hazel Jenkins of Dundas, predeceased him im 1945. In 1947 he married Miss Christene Bruce of Mill- town.
He leaves to mourn his sorrow- ing wife, and two sons; Elton Ste- wart, Hopewell Cape, N.B., and Earl Bruce, Fredericton, N.B. al- so four grandchildren.

A group of relatives and friends recently gathered at the home of Mrs. Joseph Wdge for-a surprise birthday party, the occasion ing her 75th birthday. Mrs. Wedge was presented with a birthday cake and gifts. An address was read by the secretary of the Lad- ies Aid Society. Her 5 children were all present, namely: Mr. and Mrs. Harry Gallant (Eva); Mr. and Mrs. Adrian Caissie; Mr. and Mrs. Gus Arsenault, (Marie); Mrs. Ephriam Caissie and Mfr. and Mrs. Gerald Wedge.
Mrs. Wedge’s brother, John F. Arsenault of Urbanville who was visiting Mr. and Mrs. Wedge was also surprised with the presen- tation of a cake on his 84th birth- day.
Mrs. Wedge is: still active at her age, and does her own house- work, knitting, etc. She is a mem- ber of Ladies altar Society and enjoys a game of cards.
