MONTREAL. (CPI - Marjorie Comeau. 24-year-old librarian and performer at radicsiat ion CJAD, died Saturday under an anaesthetic in a dentist's chair.

Dr. Harry Laishiey. the dentist. and Dr. Wesley Bourne. who ad- ministered the anesthetic. said the woman's breathing and pulse be- came irregular shortly. after she fell asleep in the chair. Two other doctors were called but artificial respiration failed to revive her.

Playing himself in "Ring Of Fear" is Clyde Beatty. acknowl- edged the world's most famous wild animal trainer. Beatty broke in his first wild animal act when he was only sixteen years old. That act consisted of two bears, iwo lions. and two leopards. With- in a few years he became one of the most sought after attractions in the circus world. After touring with the top circus companies Beatty became the owner and star of his own three-ring circus.

Pat O'Brien perhaps best re- membered for his outstanding portrayals in "Knute Rockne" and "The Fighting 69." plays the man- ager of the Clyde Beatty circus.

Mickey Spillane, world famous as the creator of Mike Hammer stories, makes his screen debut in "Ring Of Fear', playing himself. Spillane's success story is an amaz- ing one. From the publication of his first novel, "I The Jury" through "The Big Kill" and others. his books have sold more than iixty million copies and have been translated into eleven languages.

Heading the supporting cast are Sean Mcclory, Marian Carr and John Bromfield. Mcclory, a na- tive of Ireland and alumnus of the world-renowned Abbey Theatre. has his most important role to date as the murderous rtngmaster. Miss Carr and John Bromfield are team- ed romantically in "Ring Of Fear" as daredevils of the trapeze.

Even should the tem- perature drop severely from now on. those who know say that the ice would not be worth the bother and expense of putting it up. We can only hope hat the electrical power will be through to the Har- oour before bossy goes out to pas- pastu-re. ' -

After a long delay the card giiines hold in Savage Harbour school under the auspices of the Women's Institute were resumed on Friday night. An excellent crowd enjoyed a fine evening's en- tertainment. Among the prize- winners were the following past masters of the slippery paste- boards. Miss Phylis MacKaly, Mrs James MacKay, Mr. Charles Camp- bell and Mr. Leonard Doyle of Savage Harbour and Miss Ann Mclnnls and Mr. George MacCor- mack of Point de Roche. Robert Doverl. officer in churn of Mawson, Australia's bus in the Antarctic. led the party which found the range. I-its companions were" Dr. Robert Summers and Bruce Stlnear. a geologist. The party found the range after s. 150- mlle journey from Mawson with a dog team and a "weasel." I tracked snow-vehicle.

On Dec. 29 they reached. the peaks known as "Nunataks." From the peaks they sighted the range. The party estimated that the peaks of the range rose to about 10,000 feet above sea level.

The Australian polar ship Kista Dan has left Melbourne for Matt'- son. it will pick up the present ex- pedition and land a new expedi- tion for a year's term at the base.

Friends of Mr. Stuart McIntyre. East Point, will regret to learn of his illness in the Bouris Hospital and a speedy recovery is hoped for. Mr. Mclntyre has been the efficient lighthouse manager at East Point for many years.

Mr. John Shaw. Montague, was a business visitor to Red Point, South Lake and East Point.

Many had the pleasure of seeing one of our young men, Mr. Thomas Whalen. formerly of East Baltic and now residing in Brantford. Ontario. in a boxing match, Jan- uary. Mr. Whalen has been a suc- cessful boxer for the past few years and won many titles. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Whalen formerly of East Baltic.

This community and other com- muniiles at large are sorry to hear that Mr. John Ladner had passed away very suddenly at his home in Charlottetown on January 9th. Mr. Ladner was widely k'nown to the travelling public as on several oc-I casions they received the hospi- tality of him and Mrs. Ladner when they operated the Eldon Hotel in Charlottetown.

Mr. Louis Anderson has taken up residence at North Lake having spent the past several months em- ployed in Newfoundland.
