Another most entertaining and successful amateur contest was held at You"; Tlieatre In Monta- gue last night. sponsored by the Moniague Branch of the Canad- ian Legion.

To in completely packed house. the contestants presented their varied and capable talents, which were enthusiastically applauded by the appreciative audience. Con- testants from all over the County were entered. and this was the great factor which made it such a huge Iucceu. They en- tered into the competitive spirit of the show. and gave the aud- ience an evening's entertainment well worthy of attendance. During the intermission: special features were presented. This second contest put on h.t' the Legion proved as equally pop- ular as the first. and it is liop- ed that next year will bring a repetition of these very popular contests.

Montague Curling Club Annual Meeting Held

On Wednesday night. the Man- tague Curling Club held its an- nual mceting at the club room. The meeting. which was largely attended by the members. was pre- sided ovcr by the president, Mr. Keir Clark.

On the opening of the meeting. Mr. George Rdndcll. secretary. read the minutes of the last meet- ing. which were adopted as read. Mr. Reiidcll then read the Titian- cial report which showed receipts of 8900.00. and expenditures of 5867.78. Mr. Rendell also said that certain outstanding bonds had been paid off during the year. This report was adopted on motion.

Mr. Keir Clark gave a brief re- sumc of the activities of the club during the year. stressing articu- larly the active interest f the junior curlers. The club, he said. had been represen-ted at all the major competitions during the year. viz: Gaboury. British Con- aols. Regal, Physical Fitness. Con- federation Bonspielfand the Mac- Arthur, which the local club lost to Charlottetown. after defending it successfully against, Summerstde.

The secretary reported that the kitchen had been purchased from the ladies of the Beaver Club.

However. it was felt that this might. be impracticable. and that rather it might be possible to ar- range for each member to play in a specific team position during the year. thereby havin-it members on the teams who would be accustom- ed to playing one position.
