Rev. Chas. A. Maclecd, formerly of thie ‘city, was ordained a member of the Re- lemptorist order on Wednesday, Juue 25th, by the Right Rev. J. J. Glennon, of Kenees City, Mo. After the ordination, accompanied by a young priest ordained i with bim, Father Macleoa sec out for Boston where he arrived on Friday, the 27ib ult.

Sunday morning, im the midet of re- latives and friends, he celebrated his first boly mass in St. Jeseph’s charch, Rox- 'bary. After macs the entire congregation proceeded tothe altar railto receive the blessing of the young missionary. At 10.30 Father O'Regan, who was ordained wiih Father Macleod, celebrated Solemn bKiigh Mass in the Mission Church, Rox bury. At}this mase Father Macleod cfliciat~ ed as sub-deacon. An inquest was held at Summerside this morning by Robt. 8S. Bowness, Coroner, and the following jury: W H Barnard, foreman, Robt L Rowcke, Char, D Strong, Keaneth E!lis, Joan 4 McKay, John Matheson, Daniel McNeill.

Proceeding first to the Campbell the evidence of the dead man’s was taken as follows :

Mre Houghton,(sworn)—I am the widow of the deceased. For the past six weeks he had been a teetotaler but on Sunday I noticed he had been drinking. Since then he has been acting strangely. His

He returned between seven and eight o'clock and eat down on tne Jower step of the stair leading tothe third storey. He picked up the little baby and asked it for a kies. The child refused and he said “Won't you give poor old Jimmie a kiss for the last time.” Ai this time I was tarning on the electric light ion the ball eight feet away from him. I heard the crack of a revolver and saw him fall sideways. I aever knew him to carry a revolver and did not know he bad one. I am strongly of the opinion that bis mind was de- ranged.
