Rape is not motivated by sexual desire. Rape is motivated by anger, contempt for women and a need to dominate, control and humiliate. The rapist gets off on the sense of power he feels from seeing another human being powerless. Any positive sexual feelings are absent.

Rapists are not sexually deprived. Most have regular sexual outlets with girlfriends and wives. "They are married, young, employed and living a life that one would not describe as typical of a person who is mentally ill.”
