Orders for all countries will be issued in ‘‘dallars and cents” only, and the conversion into foreign money will be effected at the chief office through which the outgoing relative advices pass. In like manner the English post office will convert orders on Canada into dollars and cents before leaving England. A saving of two-thirds will thus be effected. Printed notices containing fall information and tablee, together with examples, have | been prepared, and will be at once placed in promicent places in the various post offices throughout the couutry. i aciiiaidiin FareweLt Sermon.— A large congreca tion attended St. Andrew’s Church last evening, when the Rev. Thos. Duncan preached his farewe!l sermon. He chose | for his text a portion of the 4th verse of | the xvii chapter of St. John: ‘‘1 have finished the work which Thou gavest me to do.” After a few minutes consideration of our Saviour’s great work of redemption, Mr. Duncan gave a resume of his labors as a minister of the Church of Scotland during his sojourn in Canada. Landing in the city of Halifax twenty-six years ago, he was received by two misters of the Gospel, one at present a member of St. Andrew’s, the other now in:Scotland. He was sent to the mission field of Prince Edward Island, and labored there long and with great success. In concluding a most interesting discourse, the rev. gentleman bade a very effecting farewell to the mem- bers of St. Andrew’s congregation, and said his only motive in leaving was a desire to do sumething for the case of Christ in his native land. The low comedy element was admirably supplied by Mr Kenny as Bunnbury Robb, and Mrs. Lewis as Sarah Sykes. They were both greeted with shouts of laughter at every appearance One of the most interesting and, by the way, best played parts of the evening was that of Arthur May—the little boy stolen by the Gypseys—wh ch was enacted by Little Maud, the most clever child actress of the day. The other characters were well taken, anil the assistance rendered by our militia added to the beaaty of the piece. The great (iypsey scene in which they appear, was encored several times, and the audience sexmed wild with delight This is the last night ef the present engagement here. It should be a bumper, and seats ought to be at a premium. His Honor Lieutenant Governor Haviland has given his patronage, and with his family wil occupy a box. The “ Mighty Dollar’’--the most amusing comedy, “by a large majority,” that has beeu presented in the past, will be repeat« d, and all who enjoy a hearty laagh should not fail to witness it. Those who saw it on Friday night last will be glad of the opportunity of again langhing at its wonderfal fan and cleverness. Secure seats at Dodii’s and go early.
