Confederation Centre Theatre has never seen anything like it before. The fast moving. high- ly colored story of "moral" little French prostitute and her two-in-one lover. an impoverished law student. de- lighted rather than deluged the audience in sordidity. or so one would gather from its reaction. The bird came in while Gab- riel Gascon. who played the chorus or narrator part of Bob. oing a comedy routine and getting a good response. A swallow just flew in and stole the show. getting the biggest

laugh of the night as it circled around Gascon's head. ascon had no recourse but to give in. Perhaps by now he is hanging his head in shame at the thought of being upstaged by a bird. SLAPSTICK TYPE

Misfortune strikes Nestor when he "murders" ‘ other half out of pure. self-induced jealousy. and he is sent to a’ prison colony for his sins.

All ends happily. however- for the time being.

WELL-RECEIVED

Simple. caster-mounted sets and fast-paced lighting changes handled with a certain finesse provide a suitably colorful background for the show.

Probably the best way to de- scribe the show is by saying that this translated from the rench musical comedy was extremely well-received by the audience—in the final analysis. the best test for success.
