wounded would be sad indeed if the articles suplied by the Red Cross were withdrawn. ‘the Government _ has never supplied any of them, with per- haps theexception of surgical dressings. The money that is caoled to me I will expend directly for the use of the Yanadian sick and wounded, and for the use of the hospitals, as before stat- ed. Our people canthus be assured that the money is’usefully,properly,and directty applied. There is much need of help ; 3,000 sick and wounded up to this date have been carried on the hospital trains to the Boer hospitals at

Easter Fe-tivat.—-There was a lerze attendance at te Easter Fertival in St. Joseph’s Convent on Saturdey eveming. The proceedings began with the rendering of au interesting literary and musical pro- gramme, after which came toe tale of basketa which was conducted by Mr. E. H. Norton. After the ele the contents of the bavkets were discussed and an enjoy- able hour or eo thus passed. The Fes- tival was in aid fof the Coaveat echocl. About $80 was realized.

The grand Patriotic concert in the Opera House this evening is a _fit- ting termination to the day observed in memory of England’s patron taint. Art as A Mora Force.— On Thureday evening, Rev. J. M. Witbycombe, of Summerside, delivered a lecture on ** Art as amoral Force,” in St. Mark’s Church Hall, Keneing'on. Notwithstanding the wet eVenirg and bad roads the seats were well filled. The lecture is an sdmirable one, and is well calculated to stimulate an interest in the beauty of Creation. Ino these days, when ideala of beautylare so low, a good, popular lecture on true art is both edifying and pleasing. Mr. Withy- combe received a hearty vote of thanks at the close of his lecture, which he has pro- mised to repeat op a future occasion be- fore the W. C. T. U. of Kensington.
